Grangegorman -Arts Strategy Meeting-April 2nd-7pm

If you are living in the Grangegorman area of Dublin, there will be a meeting to discuss the Arts Strategy for the area this Monday.  The plans for the Grangegorman Project can be viewed at DCC offices or http://www.ggda.ie/index.html.>

I would strongly advise people who live in this area to become acquainted with the plans at this early stage so that you can participate in any decisions that may be made in the future for your area.

Please see email below from Ronan Doyle, GDA:

As you may be aware the GDA is currently developing an Arts Strategy for the Grangegorman project and as part of this is carrying out consultation with all stakeholders. This is a reminder that on  Monday 2nd April at 7pm the local community meeting is being held. If you live in the area and have an interest in the project and art come to the GDA offices. Please confirm your attendance by phoning 01 8676070 or at arts@ggda.ie. Obviously ignore this if you have already confirmed your attendance.

Cllr Mannix Flynn, Independent

As an artist, Mannix Flynn is an advocate for transparency in public life. He brings this same value to his role as an independent city councillor, calling people, or more usually organisations, to account for decisions from housing allocations to cavalier spending of public money.

The apparatus of the State should serve its citizens, yet many of us struggle to negotiate complex public service systems. Mannis feels the role of a councillor is to help people access their entitlements, not just financial entitlements, but entitlements to information, education, training and culture.
